anything new?

OK I'll start.  What do you guys think about the seeming reversal of some contemporary art to the copying and deconstruction of art AGAIN? What I mean is - the de Kooning approach...there are many that are being awarded as up and coming artists to watch? I was taught in grad school to come up with your own style, your own topic in a new and fresh way and don't get stuck doing the same thing.
